Sans Sustenance | Winter Raw Spiced Porridge

The most delicious breakfast, this simple porridge is spicy, warming and full of goodness. Almond milk is a great way to experience the benefits of almonds, which are highly alkaline, loaded with antioxidants, are an excellent anti-inflammatory, and also help lower cholesterol. Combined with oats, which are high in silica and amino acids, it’s a very healthy way to start the day!

½ cup almond milk
½ cup pear juice
juice of half a lime
1 tablespoon maple syrup
¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon vanilla paste
pinch of sea salt
1 cup of raw rolled oat flakes or old-fashioned rolled oats
1 medium pear peeled, cored, and diced
additional almond milk for serving (optional)
Combine almond milk, pear juice, lime juice, maple syrup, cinnamon, vanilla paste and sea salt. Leave to sit in the fridge overnight.

Before serving, add the chopped pear and sprinkle with cinnamon and crushed walnuts or hazelnuts.
