VeridiAum

Eileen Caldwell was first exposed to the craft of jewellery making by her grandmother, and over the years she has found herself making bits and pieces for friends and family.

After studying fashion design in Milan, Eileen returned to the US and poured her love of design and her desire to create into Brooklyn based jewellery label VeridiAum, through which she produces alluring one-of-a-kind pieces, the sort of jewellery you will keep forever.

What really sets VeridiAum apart from the rest is Eileen’s ethos of design, compelled by her experience of visiting the factories which produce the spoils of many fashion labels. After experiencing first hand the detrimental effects on people and the environment that can be the result of the industry, Eileen set about devising a way to indulge her passion for design, without becoming a contributor to the damage often caused by production.

Designing the jewellery and sourcing the materials herself, Eileen collects recycled sterling silver as well as ethically mined crystals. Her friend, New Mexico based silversmith Mark Tompkins, then turns Eileen’s conceptions into striking realities.

Jewellery is just the beginning for VeridAum, with a capsule collection of clothing being designed for Spring 2011, this label is one to watch.
