Tuesday’s Tune: Season Of The Witch
One of the first songs to open the doors to a psychedelic sound in the late 60s, Donovan’s Season Of The Witch has to be my favourite. From his Sunshine Superman album released in 1967, the song has since then been covered by the likes of Robert Plant, Stephen Stills and Dr. John.
I had forgotten about this song until it was put on our road-trip playlist for summer. The opening section started and we found ourselves head-nodding in agreement to the sound of ‘electric Donovan’. That’s right! THIS song.
