“A few weeks back I was in Venice for the architecture Biennale. I stayed on the Lido in an old hotel from the ’60s which had been converted into flats. The floor I was staying used to be the old entrance and was in the midst of being redone. I took a few shots on my Contax. Looking at them now I thought of you.” — Mary Gaudin
