I used to love looking through my mum’s old Vogues she would collect. The smell of the paper was so intoxicating, it’s different to what it is like now and the fashion editorials were always so sophisticated and powerful. This layout from Self Service Fall/Winter 2009 issue reminds me of those images… This wonderful editorial is photographed by Richard Burbridge entitled ‘The Obsession: Intentional Abusrdity’.
I love the serious, 80’s demure that model Elise Crombez harnesses in this photo shoot. Stylist Marie Chaix adorns Crombez in the recent collections from designers such as Chloe by Hannah MacGibbon, Marc Jacobs, Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquiere and accessories from Alexis Bittar. Additions to the 80’s look include visors, exaggerated earrings, sequins, big shoulders, ‘et un beret’. It’s all about the jewelry, the lips, that blush!
