Summer is coming. You can feel it in the morning, no need for socks or second layers and feel it at night, we can sit outside for longer before it gets too dark. So it is about now we start to feel the urges to buy our soft, light and easy-breezy numbers to show off our newly shaved legs (!). Summer is full of all our favorite things; ice blocks, the smell of grass, sand in our pockets, salt in our hair and a few extra freckles on our faces.

Today, I was invited down to check out Quicksilver’s new collections for Fall 2010 and I must say I found some cutie’s there! Some very pretty, knitted, singlet dresses in cream and navy, a loop-knit waistcoat- perfect for layering up through any season, a distressed long sleeve tee shirt that was so fine you could sleep in it and a multi check hardware shirt which came in some very cool check color ways.

The showroom was fun too- they had a ‘make your own tote bag’ stand with people banging and sewing away with fabric swatches and scraps, a ‘design your own skateboard deck’ stand with some very keen spray paint users, a skateboarding video game with interactive participation from your very own board! AND a taco stand. Awesome.

The other thing that I found out which I thought was really cool was their new line of wetsuits. Gone are the days where girls have to squeeze into a smaller version of the boys models, now we get a zip up the front!, short-shorts pants so our legs can look good in the water, long sleeves in case it really is cold and we only have shorty-shorts on, and some cute color ways for us to stand out amongst the boys in the water. Above all that- they are designed by their sponsored girl- surfer (sorry I cant remember her name) which is a huge step forward for them in terms of design. Getting someone who is actually out there letting the team know what she needs and wants when she is out becoming one with the waves- makes sense really.

See below for my favorite finds of the day.. I need to stalk down one of those knitted dresses before summer gets serious.
