People and Places, Kamilla Musland in Turkey
“My favourite images were shot in the city of Izmir where I spent several days going up a big hill exploring the less touristy area. Kids were playing in the streets, groups were mingling and couples were sitting outside after a long day. I wanted to capture the everyday life of ordinary people, the small moments, because these are what matters. I think in life we always work towards big goals, to reach certain milestones, and we forget to appreciate where we are right now. These people who probably had a lot less in possessions and materiel items, had so much more appreciation for life itself, and that is what my camera was drawn to.” — Kamilla Musland
