N.A.S.A. (North America South America) is the musical baby of Sam Speigel (brother of director extraordinaire Spike Jonze) and Ze Gonzales. Five years in the making their debut album The Spirit of Apollo is a truly collaborative effort, with the guest artists reading like a roll call of the musical elite, over all genres, both new and old. Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, ODB of Wu Tang fame and Fatlip team up on Strange Enough, Kanye West, Santogold and Lykke Li feature in the track Gifted, and the unlikely combo of Tom Waits and Kool Keith are all over Spacious Thoughts. Ghostface Killah, M.I.A., and David Byrne, amongst others, also make an appearance on the album. Well worth a listen – check it out after the jump. Kind of heartening to know they’re all pals…
