Steamy romps and love affairs aside, the film is beautifully considered. I love the colour palette, the shots of New York City – Greenwich Village and China Town circa mid-80’s, the loft apartments, the paintings, her outfits (!), the low and shaded lighting – it’s a visual feast. And Miss Basinger, is absolutely smoking.
