Kate Sylvester is my absolute favorite. Always a step ahead of anyone else, her designs are fresh and timeless and always, always done with attitude. Showing at Australian Fashion Week yesterday the Spring 2010/11 collection draws from heavenly creatures with a tomboy twist with a raft of references that ran from Morrissey to Marcel Proust, by way of Loulou de la Falaise and Coco Chanel.

A collection of garments playing off against these two oppositions, the soft and billowy, paired with the masculine and tough, for example, I am just loving the sweet, light-weight dresses worn with oversized bows or accented collars (very gorgeous) put together with flat, olive green or black loafers. It’s what every girl wants to wear! A little bit of feminine with a little bit of bad ass attitude.

I also love her loyalty to sportswear which pops up every now and then, grey marl and raw cut shoulder lines. Red belts accent metallic colored shorts and pants, silver and tan sandals, side crossed leather strapped bags, the new sunglass range!, chains, geeky socks and gaiters, lots of silk drapery detailing on the dress and the last ivory lace sheer dress is so pretty- it could be someone’s wedding dress!

I can’t wait to purchase!
