I just spent last weekend with my Dad, of whom I don’t get to see a lot of these days. We always have a great time though cooking with each other and exchanging recipes, watching DVDs from his vast collection of live concerts, appreciating a good listen to Bob Marley in the car, and cracking each other up … one thing he finds really funny is that I always shop at men’s departments. Opting for basics like long-sleeved tees, singlets and pajama pants, over scoop-neck tees and extra girly frills. My response? Menswear is comfortable, and the shapes and fit is far more ideal than any of that found in the women’s department…
So Dad, you’ll be very please to read my next post on one of my favourite designers, New York-based menswear designer Dana Lee. As always, this season’s look book is full tempting, well-cut men’s basics in a considered, deliciously coloured palette. The simplicity of her collections is close to perfection, and I will always have room in my wardrobe for her great fitting shirts…. I also have a weak spot for any of Jody Rogac‘s images (who always photographs Dana Lee’s lookbooks) – the details, the light, her model selection. Yum.
The whole Dana Lee SS14 parcel is something that I could have delivered to my door time and time again.
